Clearance Letter

A clearance letter indicates that a name and date of birth check, you have no Local Criminal Records with the City of Turlock. This is a local check only and in NOT based on fingerprint comparison.

In order to obtain a clearance letter for a local criminal records check you will need to appear in person with a valid form of identification. (see valid forms below)

If you have a criminal arrest record with Turlock Police Department, you will need to request an arrest record letter and not a clearance letter.

Fee: $25.00

Acceptable forms of Identification

One of the following (primary forms of photo ID):

Valid California driver's license
Valid DMV Identification Card
Valid out-of-state driver's license

If one of the above is not available, ONE OR MORE of the following (secondary forms of identification):

State government issued Certificate of Birth

U.S. Active Duty/Retiree/Reservist Military ID Card (000 10-2)

U.S. Passport

Federal government Personal Identity Verification Card (PIV)

Dept. of Defense Common Access Card

U.S. Tribal or Bureau of Indian Affairs ID Card

Social Security Card

Court Order for Name Change/Gender Change/Adoption/Divorce

Marriage Certificate (Government Issued Certificate)

U.S. Government issued Consular Report of Birth Abroad

Foreign Passport with appropriate immigration docs (INS Card)

Certificate of Citizenship (N560)

Certificate of Naturalization (N550)

INS I-551 Resident Alien Card issued since 1997

INS I-688 Temporary Resident ID Card

INS I-688B, I-766 Employment Authorization Card

If SECONDARY form of ID is provides, must also provide TWO of the following supplemental documents:

Utility bill (showing current residence address)

Jurisdictional voter registration card

Vehicle registration card/title

Paycheck stub with name/current residence address

Spouse/parent affidavit

Cancelled check or bank statement

Mortgage documents
