Wednesday, May 24, 2023CITY OF TURLOCK OBTAINS GRANT FUNDING FOR PHASE II CONSTRUCTION OF MONTANA PARK
The City of Turlock has secured grant funding for Montana Park through the 2018 Parks Bond Act, Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Grant, in the amount of $2,386,000.00. This funding will allow for the completion of a neighborhood park that is designed for multigenerational enjoyment.Montana Park was designed with input from the public during five separate community meetings at multiple locations in 2019. This park will include a fitness area, covered picnic areas with BBQ’s, multi-sport court, basketball courts, a playground and drought tolerant landscape.
“I am thrilled that we have secured the funding to build Montana Park, which will be a beautiful amenity for our city,” said Councilmember Rebecka Monez. “My district has been waiting for this for a long time, and this park is another step towards Turlock being a city you can live, work, raise a family and retire with wonderful amenities we can all be proud of.”
City staff will work with State representatives overseeing the funding, to establish a timeline and next steps to move forward with the development of this project.
“The future is bright for our city,” said Mayor Amy Bublak. “From Montana Park construction to our road rehabilitation projects – there is so much to be proud of with these wonderful improvements for our community.”
